Battlefield Earth Audience Reviews

GrimPrecise I'll tell you why so serious
Intcatinfo A Masterpiece!
Mathilde the Guild Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
Deanna There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.
TownRootGuy I read the book in 1983 when I was a Freshman in High School and I enjoyed it. It's one of 3 SciFi books I've read. At 35 years older, I'm not sure I'd care for it now. The movie is a very poor adaptation, regardless. This is pretty bad. The acting and almost everything else is rather atrocious but I've seen it several times and will likely watch it again in 10 years or so. Rogue One is much worse, it's so boring it made me angry that I'd seen the other Star Wars movies. You know, because they were the reason I went to Rogue One. So, while BE isn't good at least it isn't mind-numbingly boring. A 6 rating is too high but I like the idea of a post-apocalyptic Earth, less people sounds nice. This is probably a good movie to skip unless you're just curious to see how bad some big stars can be at their job.
wkstyers I recently watched this for the fourth time trying desperately to see some redeeming factor in it to no avail. The L. Ron Hubbard book was a classic piece og golden age SciFi style but the movie is nothing short of awful. The alien look like refugees from a bad reggae band and the sets are so dark and depressing that much action is lost. This may have been John Travolta's effort to honor Scientology's founder(just my opinion) but he fell far short of doing that. What this is is a dismal not even grade B movie that is not worth 2 hours of your time..
Matt Greene LRH's oppression of the human race knows no bounds. An absolute marvel of complete failure from top to bottom. And it's crazy boring.
sim-pl I'm quite astonished that this film is considered the worst one in the history of humanity by many. Certainly it wasn't a masterpiece, however it was quite entertaining and the background of a plot (picture of Earth conquered by an aggressive superior race) seemed quite interesting for me. I was not bored while watching it. There are many other films, that were praised and that deserve more such fierce criticism than this one.
