Black Christmas Audience Reviews

BootDigest Such a frustrating disappointment
Tedfoldol everything you have heard about this movie is true.
Dotbankey A lot of fun.
Aiden Melton The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.
Leofwine_draca BLACK CHRISTMAS is another pointless remake of an old-time horror classic which didn't need remaking in the first place. This one features a needlessly convoluted back story, a general tired rehash of the original film's sorority house plot, some thin and annoying characterisations, and a lot of bloody kill sequences. The film has a bunch of young and pretty actresses, including Michelle Trachtenberg and Mary Elizabeth Winstead among their number, being menaced by a psycho killer with serious personality issues. The whole thing is shot in a cheap and dark way by director Glen Morgan, who also scripted the film and is a long way from his glory days producing THE X-FILES back in the 1990s. The one decent cast surprise is the presence of Andrea Martin from the original movie, here playing the house mother.
Nicholas This is the worst Horror Movie of 2006 and an unforgiving remake of a classic. While the DP attempts to film it in a similar style to the 1970s version, everything else is bad. Bad acting, bad writing, bad dialogue, bad make-up, bad bad bad. Do not waste time. Don't fall for how it looks, after 10 minutes you will feel like you already wasted too much of your life on this.
skybrick736 The travesty that is the Black Christmas remake is beyond mind-numbingly bad that it was painful to watch. There is a lot of stupidity shown by the characters with no development to them whatsoever. The plot is extremely predictable and just doesn't cut it to what the horror genre needs. Death scenes tried to be grotesque but it was a lot of splatter off scene techniques that required no creativity or decent special effects. The actresses in this movie had potential but the writing and directing was so dumbed down that didn't have a chance in putting forth reasonable roles that could be expected. I hated the back-story, the character's decision making, the kills, the script, the phone ring-tones (we get it, its Christmas), and especially the hospital scenes at the end. It's nearly the exact opposite of Clark's original masterpiece and is definitely a one and done view for a fan or horror.
moviesmaniax If you expect this to be anything like its original film, then you better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout I'm telling you why. Black Christmas remake here is pretty much straight forward on delivering the blood and hot chicks getting slaughter one by one rather than building up the scare like the original film. However, it has its effort in doing so but still it's just too silly and quite unintentionally funny and laughable in couple of scenes. The GORES here are pretty much satisfying enough even though it looks fake but it's just purely to make it gleefully fun for horror fans. It does borrow some elements from the original version and tries to be SCARY but ultimately fails most of the time. Nonetheless what I really admire this film for is the tone and lighting which really gives a grisly festive mood and makes it quite visually appealing to watch throughout. Overall, this is slasher Christmas-themed film that's gleefully offensive in its content and bloody silly enough to be remembered as another fun, brainless, and cheesy movie suitable for you naughty peeps to watch on Christmas and ruins all the good-spirit of this festival.>>C+<<
