Blood Creek Audience Reviews

SnoReptilePlenty Memorable, crazy movie
TrueHello Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.
Tayyab Torres Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.
Ella-May O'Brien Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.
GL84 After finding his long-lost brother who was held captive by a maniacal Nazi officer on a remote ranch, they learn of his true purpose in trying to gain the secret of immortality and race to stop him before he can accomplish this involving the ranch-hands trapped with him. This one was a really entertaining effort, though still somewhat flawed effort. One of the biggest parts to this one is the fact that there's quite a lot of solid action scenes within this one that generates quite a frantic pace that keeps things going along. Their first raid on the house, appearing from the river into a surprise ambush with a fine firefight with the family and manage to overrun the farm which gives them the upper hand during the battle and serves as a strong launching pad for the rest of the film. Featuring a great story that introduces a nice mixture of occult, black magic and the supernatural, and a rather insane streak that constantly keeps things off-guard by generating a lot of great action scenes mainly in the barn which features a lot of really innovative moments from the numerous scenes of the reanimated animals going berserk and attacking everyone in the kitchen, this is rather enjoyable overall. Introducing the later fun of the reanimated family members and letting them get bundled together with the continuous mentions of his occult studies and need for the black magic within here, there's some rather nice scenes to be had here which really plays a strong part getting a strong sense of action for this one. Likewise, the finale really sets that in motion with a rather enjoyable concept for finally finishing him off and yet also allowing for plenty of generally enjoyable action scenes with some nice chasing and some fruition of the black magic which makes for a really enjoyable time. Throw in some gore and it's even better, as this one is pretty bloody at times since the reanimation factor gives this one a chance to allow for multiple reasons to kill off the same figure and really scores nicely in aiding the fun to be had from this one. These issues here make this quite enjoyable though not without some flaws, which is mainly in that the main villain doesn't really do a lot to inspire fear beyond ripping off his face numerous times. This is entirely problematic as there's something wrong with a film that doesn't have an oppressive main villain like this one as that seems to be his main trick here, his lack of logic doesn't stay consistent from scene-to-scene and a few unexplored areas are left unanswered as for why he managed to accomplished his tasks completely unnoticed all these years or the fact that nobody went searching for his prisoners which really leaves a lot of that part of the film to seem like a rushed, completely inconsequential series of explanations that make no sense. Still, this one was a lot of fun.Rated R: Graphic Violence, Graphic Language, Brief Nudity and strong violence-against-animals.
bowmanblue I do love a good horror film, which is a shame, seeing as there's so few about. Nowadays, I judge a film with how long it can hold my attention before I start logging onto the net and only half-watching.Blood Creek actually held my attention until the end. Not that I'm saying it's a masterpiece, but it seemed to at least hold a shred of originally in its matrix. There is some bad though - lack of character development, rushed beginning (normally you have to wait ages to get into the story, but it seemed that the viewer got thrown in there pretty quick) and jerky/dark fight scenes where you can't tell who's who. However, I felt it was slightly original and you didn't quite know where it was going. It's about a man who's haunted by the loss of his brother (who disappeared during a fishing trip). The brother returns late one night and they embark on a quest for revenge that takes them up against those most dastardly of villains - Nazis (and supernatural ones at that - and, let me tell you, they're the worst kind!).The gore was good (you may have to squint a bit to ignore the slightly bad 'horse on fire' scene), but, apart from that, it has enough twists and turns to hopefully keep you interested to the end.
valleyjohn I should have known better really. Whenever a film is made that consists of actors who are more well known for being in TV shows ( In this case Henry Cavill - Tudors and Dominic Purcell - Prison Break ) they tend to turn out to be Turkeys. In the case of Blood Creek , this is a Turkey big enough to feed a whole country at Christmas. As far as i can tell , this is the story of a family of German descendent's who call on the services of a Nazi general from Germany but only end up being haunted by this man who has occultist powers.I think that's what it was about anyway because this film was a complete and utter mess from start to finish. I have no idea what director Joel Schumacher was on when he made this film .It looks like he shot a few hundred scenes , threw them on the cutting room floor and put them all back together in the wrong order.I haven't seen a horror film as bad as this since The number 23 - Directed by ? You've guessed it . Joel Schumacher. On this showing i think it's about time he gave up directing and concentrated n something he's good at because directing isn't one of them.
scottmannen1 One thing I have gotten quite tired of is generic zombie films. Let me be clear in stating this is not one of those. This movie starts out with some WW2 Nazi doctor experimenting with the occult, necromancy and Norse mythology all intertwined together. Needless to say it makes for a decent plot line. What I found separated this movie above standard zombie slasher fare was the story and mythos blended with a good amount of lore. The movie spans a time period of many decades and is easy to understand. It is scary at many times and will definitely get a few jumps out of you.Bottom line: this movie is above average for a B movie- in my opinion its definitely worth the watch. Dominic Purcell of Prison Break fame does a good acting job as usual and makes the movie work! Check it out!
