Miracle Mile Audience Reviews

Steinesongo Too many fans seem to be blown away
Pacionsbo Absolutely Fantastic
Donald Seymour This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
Freeman This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.
willcarter-56155 Miracle Mile according to me is one of the most underrated movies made in the 80s. Starring Anthony Edwards(Goose from Top Gun) and Mare Winningham the entire film takes place in real time in the course of one night. It starts off like any romantic movie- boy meets girl and promise to meet for date 2 which never happens as suddenly there is a threat of nuclear war and a bomb being dropped. The sense of urgency, surreal atmosphere and fantastic pacing make Miracle Mile a winner and a film that deserves to be seen more than it has. Please see it and spread the word.
Pete Antonucci what a bizarre movie. disjointed, the whole thing is like a pointless run on sentence. spent most of the time watching waiting for it to be over. don't bother. weird. the best part is the chaos in the streets where people are randomly killing each other, bicycles are crashing, people are knocking over shopping carts(?) what a strange flick.
SnoopyStyle Trombone playing Harry Washello (Anthony Edwards) falls for Julie Peters (Mare Winningham). They have a good day together. They set up a date after her shift at the diner ends at midnight. Harry takes a nap but a power outage stops his alarm clock. He oversleeps and arrives at the diner at 4am. Julie is long gone. Harry calls her from the payphone and receives a weird call from a guy warning his father about the launch of nuclear missiles. Nuclear blasts are expected in an hour. Diner customer Landa (Denise Crosby) calls and discovers politicians all leaving the country. She organizes planes to leave for Anarctica. As the group drives to the airport, Harry stops to find Julie. It's a chaotic night. The premise has this wonderful urgency. It could be tweaked a little. The new love idea is a bit of a fable. This whole movie is somewhat one. It's a great one-late-night movie. The story isn't completely cohesive but it is very compelling. I also love Harry's varying stories although it may be even more compelling if the audience doesn't hear the original phone call from the missile base. It would be great if the audience wonders about the veracity of Harry's story.
mikeallen21 This is a fun ride thriller. It is not meant to be a deep thinking film.Goofy slow start to lull the audience- then bang! Fast paced all the way through.I always thought it would be cool to make a movie like this with several characters having different stories happening at the same time- IE some make it out of the city, some die quickly, some decide to sit down and wait etc.The actors carry this with very little effects having to be used.Great apocalyptic movie without the senseless gore and silly explosions.I had fun watching Miracle Mile all the way to tia ******* uana!
