Dynamixor The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.
Kaelan Mccaffrey Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.
Ben Larson Spike Lee, two Oscar nominations, Cannes winner, and director of many great films like 25th Hour, Do the Right Thing, Malcolm X, 4 Little Girls, Get on the Bus, He Got Game, Summer of Sam, and Jungle Fever, among others. What is he doing here? This is the most ridiculous proposition ever. It's some adolescent sex fantasy. Jack (Anthony Mackie) is out of work and his ex (Kerry Washington) is now with a girlfriend (Dania Ramirez) and they want to get pregnant. But, it doesn't stop there. Jack starts getting lots of lesbians pregnant - at $10,000 a pop. And, they want it natural, not artificial. And, they all have orgasms!Did I say this was some adolescent fantasy?Sure, there are some incredible women showing their stuff: Kerry Washington - buns in a thong, very brief breasts in a sex scene; Paula Jai Parker - breasts; Savannah Haske - breasts; Bai Ling - very brief nipple flash; breasts from Aura Grimolyte in a sex scene with Mackie that was photographed by her girlfriend; and breasts and the top of a bum from one other woman in a sex scene with Kerry Washington. That mostly happens in just 5 minutes of the movie. There is still over two hours to go.In between, there is some very weird stuff. I won't even try to explain it because it has nothing to do with the story. One thing that is for sure - Kerry Washington was fantastic. She can act!The good thing is that we can look for a remake of Oldboy from Lee. I'm sure that will be good.
kolo-5 So stupid movie. There could be 3 different movies from this story. Bad script, bad solutions, bad plots, bad seks scenes. Why, Monica, Why? Why you did this? I have to fill 10 lines of comments for this stupid movie, what can I do? Spike tried to solve all the problems of the world with a single movie. But, being socially responsible, doesn't mean you are making a good movie. The whole lesbian pregnancy theme is so fake, comprising the final with the 2 lesbians kissing each other and the father of their children. The trial was treated in such a naive script, as if reading a school play written by the math teacher. I guess I did 10 lines. Fine. Why Monica, Why? Why you?
SDivina Despite being quite entertaining in its own right, you definitely have to keep an open-mind and accept this movie despite its obvious lack in research. John pulls his pants down to reveal his well-endowed manliness and the lesbians reacted as though they were sexually attracted to him! They were excited? They were moaning with ecstasy and they all agreed to have intercourse when everyone knows most lesbians prefer artificial insemination. If you're quite naive about all this you might get mislead about a lot of things but if you're knowledgeable then you should just go with the flow and maybe appreciate it for what it is.
Rock Savage "She Hate Me" is a problematic and confused Motion Picture. Parts are engaging and humorous while others are poorly crafted and self-conscious. Firstly the film has no pace. This could easily have been corrected by cutting all the dream sequences, all the scenes featuring Q-Tip and all the Watergate sequences. This would have resulted in a more focused and compact film. Why directly after the main protagonists discuss in detail a painful experience is it necessary to show a flashback of that exact moment? By doing so the film becomes too literal and nothing is left to the audience's imagination. The scenes concerning Watergate are embarrassing and very badly directed. The cutting room floor was screaming out for these scenes but Spike Lee left them in. Why? Does Spike Lee rate his work so highly that none of the footage shot can be cut?The dialogue between Q-Tip and Anthony Mackie in their walk through the park is contrived and immature. Not for one moment does Anthony Mackie convince as a Vice President of a powerful drugs company. In fact this actor is completely miss cast. He does not convey any authority, intelligence or sexuality. Wesley Snipes could have provided all these qualities with ease. I respect Spike Lee as a director but as this Motion Picture proves he needs to listen to a subjective opinion and act upon it, so his films can be less sprawling and more focused. This could so easily have been a very good film with some savage cutting.
