Tyler Perry's Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor Audience Reviews

Matialth Good concept, poorly executed.
Invaderbank The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.
Lachlan Coulson This is a gorgeous movie made by a gorgeous spirit.
Mathilde the Guild Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
pbriana-65474 Movie ReviewNotably, one of the best movies I have ever seen is Tyler Perry's Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor gets a five out of five in my book. The movie starts off in the setting of a counselor's office where Judith, one of the main characters, is a marriage counselor. In the scene there is obviously a couple facing troubles in their marriage. The same situation, they are going through is one of which Judith went through in her life. At this point, the movie switches gears. Judith gives the couple a real life story based on the exact thing she went through. I favor this part the best because it makes you really have to pay attention to the story, and if you miss something you will probably be lost for the remainder of the movie. Usually when there is a romantic drama it is almost always predictable. The movie itself is all around creative, thrilling, and legendary. Its suspense and detailing story line left me wanting to watch it over and over again. The author of the movie, Tyler Perry, is well known for movies of this genre, romantic thrillers. Based off my knowledge of the director I knew the film would be outstanding. Usually when he does movies, he does a playwright first. After seeing the play, I did not think the director would change much, but he did. I think his change were for the benefit of the movie having an exciting end. I think Perry's purpose was to leave the watchers feeling as if he is an incredible director. While the director adds drama and excitement, the actors make the movie more entertaining. Lance Gross and Jurnee Smollett-Bell are both known for roles they play in dramas. The two actors were very good together, and viewers could tell they were very comfortable. In the movie, Lance shows his true acting skills by making the scene come to life. Example, before Judith started her affair he had a whole portraying his undying love for actor Judith. In the scene, he sings a song on his guitar in a very jokingly way. When Judith started her affair it was very prevalent that Lance felt the emotions in real life. Usually when you see movies with emotional scenes the actors are fake crying, but for him the tears were real. For actor Kim Kardashian, her role was the gossiping coworker. In real life she is very popular, and usually is in the scene when it comes to gossip. For her I know that playing the role was not a hard task. The actors of the movie I feel were very well chosen, and they all worked well together. From the setting of the condo, the movie looked as if it were filmed in California, or Florida. The scenes were realistic and obviously could tell hard work was put into it. The movie displays realistic and unrealistic scenarios. The original couple starts in what it seems as a small condominium, which is typical for just married couples. Both Judith and Lance did not have outstanding paying jobs, so the condominium seemed very appropriate. Whereas, the millionaire who needed help find a wife lived in a very upscale condominium what looked to fit his lifestyle. Seeing the two different condominiums all made sense to me. It also makes sense why Judith would want to have an affair because a nice place and a man with money is usually what sparks women interest. Nowadays that is not the best route as you would see in the movie those men are usually cheaters and abusers. Overall, the movie, actors, and scenery was a great choice for this movie. I recommend this movie to anyone who likes romantic dramas.
Craig Jacobs Brilliant story, acting needs work... "Movie should be a stepping stone when trying to bring a meaningful message across to audiences" This movie is the line between write and wrong. It highlights things that are seen by many in todays society as a fulfilled life, fancy things that means nothing! It screams out for people to remember family for what it means/represents in life. Most people will not understand the message Tyler Perry brings through this movie as they are consumed by what life offers today. Stop being ruled by this world and make your mark on it. I gave it a 10 out of 10 not because of the acting but because of the message it brings.
kysstaylor This movie had me confused from start to finish...I thought for sure she wouldn't give in to this man after being with her husband for 19 yrs...he wasn't even cute why didn't lance gross or shemarr Moore play this character? brandy acted as if dude was stalking her when he wasn't....I just didn't get the whole thing...why was Kim kardashian playing and dressing like her normal self when she was suppose to be a professional?... Why was this couple living like they were poor when the both of them had wealth? What was the point of the French accent?... A better ending would have been if Judith died from aids and someone else was telling the story.
Dani Korkegi I have really enjoyed Tyler Perry's movies, to this point. They've been entertaining without requiring much, if any, soul-searching or introspection. Sheer entertainment and the 'good guy' always prevails. But this one left me numb as well as absolutely and utterly down. If I had wanted a sermon, I'd have gone to church. If I wanted a dose of reality, I'd just watch all around me. I watch movies to 'clear my head'; not to learn or witness painful lessons. Enough of those in the real world. Very disappointing.Agreed that Kim Kardashian did nothing for the movie or me. Only solidified my thinking that she's not terribly talented but definitely superficial. The role, in that respect, was right on the money. I'm sure Kim must have some positive characteristics. Acting is not one of them. And to have Vanessa Williams speak with a hideous French accent (I am French) was just another thorn in the side.I won't give up on Tyler Perry but will certainly check reviews before I watch another. This was 2 hours of my life I'll never get back.
