Frosty Returns is an animated Christmas television special starring Jonathan Winters as the narrator and John Goodman as the voice of Frosty the Snowman. The special was directed by Bill Melendez and Evert Brown and features music by Mark Mothersbaugh. It first aired in 1992 on CBS. The special is not a direct sequel to the original 1969 special, as the two were produced by different companies, and feature different characters, setting and voice actors. Since Broadway Video produced this special and owned the 1969 original, Frosty Returns follows the CBS showings of the original and is coupled with the original on all DVD releases,.

Frosty Returns Audience Reviews

BeSummers Funny, strange, confrontational and subversive, this is one of the most interesting experiences you'll have at the cinema this year.
KnotStronger This is a must-see and one of the best documentaries - and films - of this year.
Freeman This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.
Bob This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
cjwhite-31645 I have seen this film about a dozen times, and I still don't understand why everyone hates it so much. The Animation is good to look at and it has John Goodman. Probably one of the most underrated Christmas Specials along with The Tangerine Bear, Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas, and more
thekyrose I should have known better. I had gotten a box set called "The Original Christmas Classics". It's the 1 with Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, The Little Drummer Boy, Mr Magoo's Christmas Carol, Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer, the Original Frosty The Snowman, The Cricket On The Hearth....and THIS mess. I thought it was the 1 with Crystal. How I regret that it isn't. Did someone @ CBS owe a loan shark with an artist wanna-be for a grand child? To say that this is the worse sequel since Halloween 3 can't even cover it. The only thing it has in common with the original is that there are humans in it, it's the Christmas season and a snowman comes to life...oh, and it names the snowman as "Frosty", and he is white in color. While characters in this "presentation", may make references to elements reminiscent of the original, that's stretching it a bit...so is having to give this a rating of 1 (awful). I didn't see any ratings in the negative like -9 terrible, -7 horrible, -5 sucks...-3 blows chunks...-.9 animators need to be drawn & quartered, hung, shot AND disemboweled. While I have seen different actors who regret doing certain projects, I gotta wonder just how far they'll pimp their talent? John Goodman is a fine actor, but...why this one? This monstrosity makes King Ralph look like Masterpiece Theatre.
TheLittleSongbird Frosty the Snowman is a timeless Christmas classic with memorable characters, beautiful music and great animation. Frosty's Winter Wonderland while not as good was quite nice. However, this was close to abominable really. It has little to do with Christmas, and is a mockery of the original. It is completely charmless and quite obnoxious and mean-spirited. The animation is very shoddy, and the music is completely unmemorable. The story is disjointed and laboured, and the writing is dreadful. The characters, including Frosty, are devoid of charm and likability and the villain was actually quite annoying. The voice cast try their best but they are wasted. Overall, an embarrassing mess with few if any redeeming features. 1/10 Bethany Cox
Tracy_Terry_Moore Jonathan Winters arrives riding a snowflake and eating chocolate macaroons to tell the story of how Frosty the Snowman and his friend Holly DeCarlo stopped the richest man in Beansboro, Pennsylvania from ridding the town of all its snow with a new synthetic aerosol he created.Frosty and Holly finally have their big showdown with Mr. Twitchell and his cool pet cat 'Bones' in Gooseberry Park during the city's annual winter carnival.Slight superficial 'sequel' pales to the original, but can be enjoyed on its own terms.
