Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth Audience Reviews

FirstWitch A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
Catangro After playing with our expectations, this turns out to be a very different sort of film.
Paynbob It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
Juana what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
sxavi It's a good drama. The plot is alright although the romance is dry. I honestly started shipping the lead couples at the last episode. The acting was nice, although the set felt very cheap and unreal like the whole drama was a skit. When comparing this to Moon Lovers:Scarlet Heart Reyeo, its pretty terrible. Moon Lovers may not have an all star cast but it is made up with an excellent plot, amazing chemistry and romance as well as a set that feels genuine. Overall don't expect the drama to be amazing. You will probably only enjoy it if your an hard core Taehyung or Minho fan. The time spent watching this drama is better spent on watching Moon Lovers.
sugarcube-14950 I started watching this show for V, but ended up falling in love with the show. The first 2 episodes weren't so great, but it gets better and better. All of the cast members are fabulous actors. They can get themselves to cry at the drop of a hat! The story-line is very well made. The shows main male character is a nobody, peasant who ends up in the capital. He ends up being a Hwarang because of the Queen, and quickly makes enemies and friends. The main female is a cheery, youthful, and the daughter of a physician. Everyone in the capital likes her. She tells love-stories to the girls and is a part-time assistant to her father. The other main male character is the hidden King. Whoever sees his face is killed. He is a romantic, strong, friendly man. He wants to be the King, but at the same time is afraid of not being strong enough. His mother refuses the idea of giving up the throne. In this drama there is a lot of stuff going on, you have love triangles, fights, friendships, betrayal, war, & a whole lot of good-looking faces. Seriously the best show I've seen. It makes you laugh, cry, get angry. That's when you know it's good! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good drama. :)
phoenix 2 I seriously wanted to like this one. Pity! The cast was really good, with many popular actors and idols, but it ended up just like those movies with the all star casting and no plot. The story is about the formation of an army out of aristocrats who were handsome as well. This army was created to protect the future king, who was in hiding for years and no one has seen. More specifically, the story centres on a guy who ended up in the army, even though he has no social status, the girl to whom he pretends to be her lost brother and this other stranger who is actually the real king. The drama starts okay, with some interesting twists and entertaining story. However, it quickly gets boring. It's not that the performances weren't good. It's more that the drama had no plot and it got stuck even from episode seven! And the ending was very simple. Plus, they left out a few things (like, why the guy was fainting out of the blue?). So, 2 out of 10. P.S. I watched it for V and he didn't have much role in this one, so if you are going to watch it for the same reason, don't.
