Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! Audience Reviews

EarDelightBase Waste of Money.
Juana what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
Janis One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.
Caryl It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties. It's a feast for the eyes. But what really makes this dramedy work is the acting.
OllieSuave-007 This cartoon series features my favorite cartoon character, Scooby Doo, and represents one of the best things from my childhood and is the first and original show starring the character, which have spawn many series sequels and incarnations and movies. Here, a group of young sleuths, Fred, Daphne, Velma and Shaggy, form the Mystery Incorporated, Inc., a crime-solving organization, along with their great dane, Scooby. You get to see good classic detective elements in the episodes, from finding clues to splitting up to investigate. The antagonists is almost always a ghostly or out-of-this world figure, which gives this show a suspenseful and horror touch. But, what results all together are the hilarious gags and comedy that the characters serve up.Shaggy and Scooby are the best friends in the show and deliver probably the best dose of laughs, from their cowardly stance toward solving mysteries to their hunger for snacks to their slapstick style of dealing with each problematic situation. Velma is the bookworm in the bunch, but possesses a witty and deadpan humor deliverance that adds onto the show's laugh-out-loud humor. Fred and Daphne are the more serious of the bunch, with Fred being the group's leader and Daphne usually being the damsel-in-distress.It's an entertaining show that I looked forward to watch after school or on the weekends - one that certainly makes your mood feel better and keeps you filled with suspense and make you laugh your hearts out. Even as an adult, I would catch certain episodes of this show just for the fun of it.Grade A
shadowymoon8 I grew up on Scooby Doo (admittedly the same few episodes played again and again on VHS), and it certainly had an impact on my life when I was younger - it inspired my curiosity about the world and helped me be a little less afraid of the dark. It's a classic show that nearly everyone knows, and as I'm re-watching it now, it's so wonderfully simple and entertaining, and I remember why I love it so much. I can see why it's a franchise that's survived the ages. The intro song in particular is one of my favourite parts - it's so catchy! The cartoon style is classic and apart from a few small errors here and there, is beautifully animated. The details in the background are also amazing - they provide a hint of realism to the more cartoonish style.Basically, I love Scooby Doo and the original series is probably my favourite simply because of nostalgia.
DesertDogMedia Title: Scooby Doo, Where Are You? Genre: Comedy Horror/Mystery Main Characters: Scooby Doo, the great dane namesake of the show. Who is also the biggest cowardly dog there is. Even bordering on more cowardly than Courage the cowardly dog. Shaggy Rogers, the best friend of Scooby Doo who looks like he was designed to be a stoner. Just as scared and cowardly as Scooby, but much more hungry. Velma Dinkley, the brains of the operation. Still gets as scared as everyone else regardless. Danger-prone Daphne Blake, the 'typical female' of the group who is just there to look pretty and get rescued from danger. Fred Jones, the self appointed leader of the group who thinks the best course of action is to "Split up gang" even when it is the worst course of action. Do they change over the season?: Not in the slightest, not over the decade. Not even over the lifespan of the franchise, which is around 44 years old, but that is why they are so loved. But they are all able to bring their own little things to the show. It has however been shown that the show can work with just Shaggy and Scooby, as seen in 'Shaggy and Scooby Doo Get A Clue' but can also work with Shaggy, Scooby and Daphne in "13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo' But all fans would agree the group is at their best when it is all of them, -Scrappy because no one liked Scrappy. Yet somehow he got his own series with them, but the general censuses among fans is negative in regards to Scrappy. Show runtime: The show has had several iterations, all of which have brought something new to the franchise. But 'Scooby Doo, Where Are You' and 'The Scooby Doo Show' are the most similar shows. Mainly because they both ended in 1978 so they shared a similar character feel and animation style. Narrative of the show: The show and all of its predecessors share the one thing which makes Scooby Doo enjoyable as a cartoon, they are all able to not take themselves too seriously. Along with that, they have all successfully made their own changes while keeping to what made the original so great. This is how the franchise is still going strong. But the narrative is solving mysteries and unmasking the bad guys Overall Feel: The main reason I did this review was because Casey Kasem, the voice of Shaggy Rogers passed away on the 15th of June 2014 (Yesterday, at the time of this review was written). This made me want to go back and re-watch the greatest cartoon from my childhood, even after all the years which have flown by, the nostalgia still keeps. I can easily admit the show was not without its bugs and flaws such as the animators not paying attention and one person ends up with a deformed hand, or a voice actor doing the voice of one actor and then switching over to the voice of another while the same character is still talking. But this show could give cartoons created now or even in the 90's a run for their money. This is a show which doesn't let logic hold it back from making jokes and slapstick humour. But that does not retract you from the enjoyment of it, so I would recommend this show for all as both adults and children can enjoy it. Mainly because it isn't too childish to be annoying to adults, but has that childish element to it which allows it to be funny to all. Similar to that one drunk friend who always comes out with the must random assortments of comments for the smallest things. But its totally beloved for it.
