Veep Audience Reviews

Smartorhypo Highly Overrated But Still Good
Claysaba Excellent, Without a doubt!!
Portia Hilton Blistering performances.
Fleur Actress is magnificent and exudes a hypnotic screen presence in this affecting drama.
zafar142007 Veep is a delightful sitcom. I started watching it mainly because of Dreyfus, but it has since then developed its own engaging repertoire. The characters are funny, and even without the crutch of hilarious happenings, they make us laugh. I like the way the show pokes fun at the hard-nosed politician without becoming tardy. The relationships the Veep shares with her associates are the key focus of the mirth. I would have wanted more screen-space for Hugh Laurie in the later seasons as he seems under-utilized. Jonah Ryan could have been the breakout character like Barney Stinson, but it seems he has become the Joey Tribbiani of this show. Some characters like Amy--though acted well-- suffer from under-development. Overall, a good comedy show which has maintained its quality throughout its run.
grantss Brilliant satire on US politics.Selena Meyer (played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus) is the Vice President ("Veep") of the United States. We how she and her staff go about their day and the things and people they have to deal with.A brilliant, biting comedy on the hollowness, superficiality, manipulation, keeping-up-appearances, lies and deceit that is US politics (and politics in general). Created and written by Armando Iannucci who previously gave us The Thick of It, a similar satire on UK politics and even more over-the-top than Veep, and In the Loop, a great movie spin-off of The Thick of It.Everything and everyone are fair game and nothing is sacred, which is refreshing and rare in today's overly-PC age. Definitely not for the easily offended or the fanatical party partisan.
bruce-129 I have tried to watch this show. When I hated it in series, I tried to watch some random episodes in different seasons. Nothing helps, it just make me feel disgusted, offended or irritates every moment I spend watching this. It is horrible. I cannot imagine people thinking of, writing, and acting this show ... it is one of the most horrible things on TV I have ever seen ... and that means actively horrible. The character are all insulting each other all the time. I suppose that lots of the people who gave this a high rating watch it to learn how to insult people ... so for that it might be good.Seriously, the only word for this awful bit of nauseating entertainment is "putrid". "Veep" is horrible, and I really like Julia Louis-Dreyfus.I want to know who likes this show, or what their demographic is, just so I can avoid whoever or whatever they are.
cthornton-59985 I remember I was skeptical of Veep at first. I never really saw the humor in political stuff. I sat down to watch the first episode... and within minutes I was howling with laughter.Veep is basically about the whirlwind life of Vice President Selina Meyer and her incompetent team who keep messing things up, with hilarious consequences. Veep's humor is clever and rapid-fire. There is a lot of strong language in it, but don't be put off by that. It just makes it funnier.I would recommend keeping watching after season one. Season one might be a bit iffy because it was still finding itself. Seasons two and three savagely hilarious, and I hear season four is just as funny. Watch Veep, I guarantee you'll cry laughing.
